Welcome to "The Path," a blog where we delve into ancient wisdom teachings and explore their relevance in our modern lives. At the core of this journey is the transformative practice of yoga, as Yoga is a liberation teaching, given to us to help free us from the dramas and emotions of our daily lives. In embarking on this path, two essential qualities must be present: desire and a steadfast commitment to practice. Our ultimate aim is to attain self-knowledge and awareness, not to dazzle others with our achievements, but to harmonize our spirit with our thoughts and actions, leading to a more fulfilling existence.
Central to this exploration is the concept of awareness - the essence of our being. At the heart of it all lies the witness self, a beacon guiding us to be present, conscious, and discerning in our choices. Through this journey, we can transcend the limitations of a fragmented mind and embrace a sense of unified consciousness. The witness self illuminates our true nature, answering the fundamental questions of who we are, what we are, and how we should live.
In my own life, I strive to embody this practice of witnessing, observing my thoughts with detachment and embracing life's dualities with equanimity. I strive to prioritize the quality of my actions over their outcomes, embracing each moment with grace and reverence. It is a daily practice. As Yoga is an experiential teaching, it provides many tools and paths to try. I have chosen to begin this exploration with a look at Pantanjali’s Eight limbed path. I hope you join me on this transformative journey, as we navigate the depths of self-discovery and self-transformation together.
