Core Curriculum
Exclusive Yoga Anatomy Course

Vidya Yoga is pleased to offer this amazing training to students of this teacher training.  This Anatomy course completes and satisfies the 30 hour Yoga Alliance requirement for this section of the training. 

YogaAnatomy.net Fundamentals is the only online anatomy course that is specifically designed for beginning yoga teachers. 

These unique online trainings are already in use by The American Viniyoga Institute, The Yoga Institute of Australia, and The Africa Yoga Project. To date, this course has served hundreds of students in 46 countries, with excellent results. 

 

As a student, you will have access to a members-only website with 20 hours of yoga anatomy fundamentals training. This training is delivered primarily in online streaming video format, with printable handouts and visuals.

You set the schedule on how best to move through the material, and you will be supported as they work through each unit. At home, you will be guided through the assigned lessons, given worksheets, assigned reading, and there will also be movement exercises to you begin to embody the material.

  • 01 What is Yoga?
    Section 01 - What is Yoga? The many meanings of Yoga including a historical timeline begin to create the Path to Liberation. We will cover the history, literary heritage, and their insights as we begin to contemplate their application in our lives.   • 02. Approaching Spiritual Practice
    Section 2 – Approaching Spiritual Practice Liberation is our birthright. It is available to all of us and there are many paths. We will begin to explore the paths available and how we can approach a personal practice. The Quest for Happiness The 7 stages of Psycho-Social growth How do we Avoid Suffering? Yamas and Nyamas
  • 03. Meditation
    Section 3 - Meditation Meditation is the foundation of the spiritual path. The many forms of meditation will be discussed and practiced and time for personal experimentation and reflection will be provided.
  • 04. Elements of the Spiritual and Physical Practice
    Section 4 – Elements of the Spiritual and Physical Practice There are many concepts/rituals contained within the understanding of practice.     Section 5 – Chakras Understanding of the Chakras through sound, color, location, and relationship will be just some of the topics contained within this section.   • 07. Asana Anatomy
    Section 7 – Asana Anatomy Applying the concepts in the previous section, asanas will be explored and broken down into anatomical descriptions, benefits and contraindications. Alignment principles will be applied as they pertain to body movement and position.
  • 08. Asana Practice
    Section 8 – Asana Practice Alignment Essentials and modifications are key to instructing students how to enter a pose, adjust, and determine appropriate level. Through group work, experience with others will begin to build confidence and knowledge as we explore the many options.
